38 weeks

So this is 38 weeks... YAY! The plan is if I don't deliver by Dec 4th I get induced that night. I spent a few hours on the OB unit last night becauase I was contracting like crazy and really uncomfortable, but alas no change so they sent me home... I have a non stress test saturday as well as a blood pressure check to see how things are going. My BPs last night were great 1teens over 70s to 130s over 80s... So not too bad at all. Kevin and I had to walk for an hour to see if I was in active labor, NOPE! Still contracting today (happy turkey day!) but not quite as bad as last night. Oh well I think this will be my last belly shot because hopefully I will have this little man by 40 weeks! The next time you see me I will hopefully be a lot skinnier and have little Kohen in my arms! I can't wait!

bedrest again

I am done working, my doctor took me off of work yesterday because of my blood pressures. Again they started out at 150s/80s but by the time I left work ( as a patient of course) they were down to 130s/70s. One was even 128ish/68ish! BUT she still took me off of work and put me on bedrest again... I'm doing another 24 hour urine and then we will see what we will see... Last night I was contracting pretty regularly every 2-5 minutes for almost 2 hours, I almost thought I would have to have Kevin come home from hunting before it even starts (yes I am alone this weekend being a deer hunters widow). BUT they tappered off and now I only have had a few today, nothing like last night though... So the girls at work are supposed to call me after my Dr gets the results of the 24 hour urine to let me know the plan, possibly inducing the day after thanksgiving (which is when I was born!!!) so again we will see. BUT NO MORE WORK FOR ME until he is 3 months old. Kinda bummed about that, bedrest is no fun... I will keep you posted on the progress, or lack there of.

So I started walking the dogs 2 times a day this week, hoping it will help get things moving... Well it hasn't so far, I am still NOT AT ALL DILATED! AHHH... I am uncomfortable and cranky... I just want this to be done and over with, I just want to meet my little baby boy and actually get to sleep on my back or my belly... I'm amazed that people do this more than once... This is torture! I have also been told raspberry leaf tea, cinnamon sticks in tea, pineapple, and evening primrose oil help get things moving... Along with some other things. So we will see what we will see.

My bloodpressure was good in the office today 127/77! Much better than it has been. My Dr did say that if it is still high this weekend at work that this may be my last weekend working before she takes me off. So AGAIN we will see what we will see. I just am ready to be done... I am so anxious to meet our little guy! I guess patience is a virtue that I do not possess...

36 weeks

So I am posting the 36 week picture the day I turn 37 weeks, I am officially full term today! Anything from 37-40 weeks is full term! He could come at any time now and boy do I hope he decides to make his way sooner than later. My right hand is now numb and my ankles are swollen, yuck... My Dr told me to try a carpal tunnel brace at night to try and help the numb hand but all it does is make me hot and uncomfortable, like I need something else to make me feel like that! And of course it is my dominant hand... My blood pressures continue to be slightly elevated, anywhere from 130's-150's/70's-80's. My next appointment is Thursday so I hope to find some more out then... Like if they have to induce me for the BPs... BUT he is moving alot still, which gets uncomfortable at times... But he is moving and that is always comforting... We just can't wait to meet him!

35 weeks

So I'm feeling a lot better than I did on Friday. Still very tired but no more contractions, yay! I had done a 24 hour urine and they drew PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) labs when I was in the hospital, my labs were ok and my 24 hour urine wasn't terrible either. So my Dr said I bought myself some more time. I'm really hoping to work until he is born, but we will see how my body feels about that as the weeks come. I am on a medication right now called Procardia to help with the contractions, it also helps bring my blood pressure down. So I have another Dr's appointment on Thursday and we will see what she says... Hopefully things continue to go smoothly, as smoothly as one can expect for being nearly 9 months pregnant! I'm just praying for a healthy baby.

early contractions

So yesterday I go to work and feel terrible so they hook me up to the monitors and guess what!? I'm contracting every 2-4 minutes! I'm only 34 4/7 weeks yesterday... So they give me fluids and monitor me for the entire day because the contractions kept coming and going and them by blood pressures were high as well. I am on bedrest today and am able to go back to work tomorrow if I feel ok... And the nurse curse continues with another victim... I will keep everyone posted.
